Picnics - Terms and Conditions

In addition to the terms and conditions set forth in the Rental Item Agreement, orders for Picnic Items (including the picnic bundles, lemonade, beverages, and/or pies) are subject to the following:

  1. Delivery Time and Service Period. The Picnic Items (including picnic bundles, lemonade, beverages, and/or pies) will be delivered to the Rugged Horizon venue, 62143 Blood Ranch Lane, St. Ignatius, MT 59865, and be ready to serve on the date and time (“Delivery Time”) agreed upon between the parties and detailed in the invoice from Rugged Horizon. 
  2. Menu to Be Served. The menu items to be served are as described in the invoice. Any changes must be agreed to in writing between the parties, and may be subject to additional fees and terms. Rugged Horizon reserves the right to make small changes to the menu only if key ingredients are unable to be sourced due to reasons beyond its control.
  3. Manner of Service; Client Responsible for Disposing of Trash
    1. Picnic Bundles. Items sold in picnic bundles will be set up buffet-style and are designed to be self-serve. 
    2. Pies. Pies will be packaged in pie boxes or similar containers so that Customer may place them on a dessert table or serve them as desired. Customer is responsible for cutting and serving the pies. 
    3. Lemonade. Lemonade will be served in glass beverage dispensers with plastic cups and pump-style flavored syrups, as specified in the invoice from Rugged Horizon.   
    4. Trash. Customer is responsible for throwing away any trash from the meal. If Customer would like to add a server to provide busing after the meal, please contact Rugged Horizon for pricing details.
  4. Service Period – Not to Exceed Two Hours at Room Temperature. For food safety reasons, Customer is advised that the service period for the Picnic Items shall be two hours. For Items containing eggs, dairy, or meat, Customer is advised that these items should be discarded after being left out at room temperature for two hours. Rugged Horizon will not be held responsible for any foods that are consumed after the two hour service window, food that is removed without its knowledge or consent, or food brought in by any other person.
  5. Treatment and Handling of Catering Equipment and/or Picnic Baskets, Blankets, and other Rental Items. Farm baskets, picnic baskets, picnic blankets, and picnic tables, if included in the order, must be returned to the barn at the conclusion of the Rental Period so that they may be inventoried, cleaned, and washed. Any missing or damaged catering equipment or supplies will be charged to Customer in accordance with the provisions set forth under “Care of Rental Items” in the Rental Item Agreement.
  6. Tastings Available for $50 Fee. Tastings will include a sampling of menu Items and will feed approximately four people. Please contact Rugged Horizon to schedule.
  7. Allergens and Dietary Restrictions. Please proactively reach out to your guests early to identify anyone who might have special needs due to dietary necessity, personal preference, or religion. Rugged Horizon will work with Customer to address any of these issues, but please note that deviations from the menu may incur additional costs and in certain cases may not be possible. For that reason, any specific dietary needs must be addressed in advance, as Rugged Horizon has limited ability to respond to such requests while serving Customer’s event. **Food provided by Rugged Horizon may have been produced in a facility that may be cross-contaminated with tree nuts, peanuts, soy, milk, eggs, wheat, shellfish, and other potential allergens.**
  8. Indemnification and Hold Harmless. By the submission of Customer’s order for Picnic Items, including picnic bundles, pies, lemonade, and other beverages, Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rugged Horizon in the event more guests attend the event than reported to Rugged Horizon in the order form, or if not enough food, beverages, or services are ordered to properly serve the attendees. Customer further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rugged Horizon for any food or beverages removed from the venue by any person or persons whatsoever and consumed or transferred to another person, persons, or organizations whatsoever, and consumed which causes sickness and any or all conditions leading up to and including death.
